At UC San Diego, Human Powered Submarine is pushing the boundaries of innovation, engineering, and teamwork. Our students come together from diverse backgrounds to design, build and race a human-powered submarine in the International Submarine Races (ISR) — a thrilling competition that challenges creativity, engineering and skill.

We are an open, hands-on community where students gain real-world experience in engineering, CAD, machining and scuba diving. No dues, no applications — just a shared passion for building something incredible.
