Help us get to Nationals!

**5/12 UPDATE FROM THE TEAM**

The Tritons had one of their best seasons yet, finishing second in their conference and 11th nationally. They traveled to Las Vegas twice, defeating #8 and #6 ranked teams (“2 Rules: Don’t invade Russia in the winter, don’t play UC San Diego in Vegas”). They had a tough fought battle against the #3 ranked Montana Grizzlies, bringing a 7 goal deficit down to just 2 by the end of the game, and only allowing the Grizz to score 1 goal in the second half. Against UC Irvine 18 different Tritons scored goals, with first goals for many players!

More important than scores and statistics, the UCSD lacrosse family has grown closer than ever. The boys were actually so committed to lacrosse that people complained there were never not lacrosse players practicing on Muir Field! With two trips to Las Vegas and one to Austin the 42 man roster has become a brotherhood that extends beyond the lacrosse field. Extracurriculars include: team dinners at Chili’s, Yoga classes at Core Power (thanks to an alum, Alan Galvez), and dawn patrol surf sessions. Every player has made friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

The UCSD lacrosse program not only produces excellent lacrosse players, it also produces all around good people. We’ve been posting senior highlights on our instagram and they are certainly worth reading.

Support your UCSD Tritons Lacrosse in their quest for the 2023 MCLA National Championship!

The MCLA National Championship Tournament is being hosted in Round Rock Texas May 8th-May 13th, where the Tritons aspire to win it all and get the program's first national championship. Led by an experienced coaching staff of Albert Man, Nick Ares, Brian Cook and Sam Cunard, the team confidently went 10-2 in the regular season and are currently ranked #9 in the nation! UCSD traveled twice to the Las Vegas desert where they upset the 6th and 8th ranked teams, and because of this strength of schedule they will make the tournament as an at-large bid. The Tritons have been seeded 11th in the tournament and will face Montana State in the first round.

This trip will cost the team around $26,000-$30,000. These crucial funds will help pay for travel and lodging for the team. This Finale trip and potential championship run at Nattys will cap the careers of their 10-player senior class! With star players such as 2022 and 2023 SLC Player of the Year Austin Ortel on the offense (who is on the verge of a 100 point season), and a strong trio of senior captains in Finn Reid, Nick Krolikowski, and Cameron Parsa, they are looking confident and poised to make a deep run in Texas! Lend them your support and be a part of something spectacular!

Go Tritons!
