The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Art, theatre, is a testimony of the human condition. We’ve been making art since the beginning of our history — whether we knew it or not — establishing culture, time, place, and all other facets of life.
Our school has thousands of students with all different interests and talents. Musical theatre is an art form which unites many of these disciplines: dance, music, acting, engineering of lights and sound, architecture, physics, and construction of sets, fashion and makeup design, anthropological empathic understanding, historical context, literature, the list goes on and on.
Our 32 year-old tradition of completely student-run, 100+ participant organization presents the only two annual musicals on campus! We put on a smaller-scale show in the Fall, a huge Spring musical, and a cabaret style showcase to finish off the year. We offer free tickets for UC San Diego students and super affordable tickets for the broader community (family, friends, neighbors)

All of this said, our funding has been severely diminished this year due to rollover complications from COVID-19, external budget cuts, and overall lack of infrastructural support for all art forms in our country as of late. In order to provide the same beautiful, fulfilling opportunities which we are known for, we are in desperate need of your support! Any donation you are willing and able to make would be so deeply appreciated.
Any and all donations received will go straight into supporting us, the students; toward scripts, rehearsal spaces, costumes, sets, props, lighting and sound equipment, performance facility rentals, and community outreach/bonding events.
