Undergraduate Research Scholarship
Your gift to the Chancellor’s Research Scholarship program supports students from all majors at UC San Diego who want the experience of conducting research with a faculty mentor. The scholarship supports students with financial need and an extraordinary drive to succeed. Our research scholars spend ten weeks over the summer in labs across campus developing the interdisciplinary expertise necessary to address society’s greatest challenges in their fields of study. At the annual summer research conference in August, scholars present their findings to a national audience of undergraduate scientists.
Yoori Cho ’21 was awarded the Chancellor's Research Scholarship for Science and Engineering. This allowed her to dedicate a summer to her own biomedical research project investigating the role of a specific gene in the regulation of hepatic mitophagy. “Participating in this summer research program was one of the best experiences I've had in my college career as it helped me learn what it is like to work as a biomedical researcher and solidify my goal in pursuing medicine.” – Cho ’21
Please make your gift today in support of undergraduate research at UC San Diego and help sustain a student-centered, research-focused, service-oriented public university of the future.
