Support Healthy Native Nation

Join Us in Support of Native Health & Wellness

Healthy Native Nation (HNN) aims to prevent all alcohol-related birth defects, and to support families already affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). We are working to reduce prenatal alcohol consumption among Native American women in San Diego County. We want to empower Native American women to make healthy choices regarding alcohol when they are pregnant or when they may become pregnant.

We’ll Empower Women & Future Generations

Our campaign is a call to action: We want every baby in this nation to be a healthy baby! We are the first Tribal National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS) affiliate! We are housed on the reservation, serving multiple Tribes in San Diego County. Our program is growing but operates with severely limited funding. With your help, we are raising funds to:

  1. Educate women and families about the dangers of alcohol during pregnancy;

  2. Train professionals in all aspects of FASD diagnosis, prevention and support;

  3. Establish a local resource center to connect individuals with information and services; and

  4. Improve prevention strategies and the delivery of services through research.

Pregnancy is Sacred: We Need Everyone to Cradle Support

Alcohol is an entirely preventable cause of birth defects. We all have responsibility to give the best possible start to a baby’s life. Will you help us create a healthy native nation?

We want every baby to have the best possible chance.  Help us empower women to make informed choices in pregnancy that are best for them and their babies.  Help us make our future generations strong and healthy by supporting us now!

Choose a giving level

Give to Children

Help us provide support to children with FASD, even a small amount of money will help at-need children.

Help with Travel Costs

Participants often need to travel back and forth to rural and remote locations. Help bring services to and from the Reservation by donating a $10 gas gift card.

FASD Awareness Art Contest

Early education about the consequences of drinking while pregnant is key to prevention. Your donation will help to support an annual art contest on September 9th and bring prizes to schoolchildren.

Fund Educational Materials

Your contribution will be key in developing brochures and teaching materials that are culturally-specific to local Native populations.

Community Workshop Supplies

With your help, we’ll buy supplies for children in the schools and after school programs.

Focus Group Gift Cards

We hold focus groups when conducting research. Help us provide a gift card to each attendee as a thank you for her participation.

Fund an Exhibit Booth

Help us develop exhibiting materials for community events which would include a banner, table cover, and giveaways.

Build a FASD Resource Center

Contribute to a space at the Indian Health Clinic for FASD learning by helping us purchase books, videos, educational games, bookcases, tables and chairs.
